Family Pictures!

We had some pictures taken thanks to Deb and Bill. Nick Curteman was generous enough to donate a portrait session to Turner's preschool auction last spring and Deb and Bill bought it for us.

Since we ended up with some great pictures due to the kindness of others I had to make sure to share at least some of them with everyone else! During the session Harley slipped on some stairs and split his lip open, I'm pretty impressed that Nick still got some good shots despite the bloody lip!

We had fun and I'm so happy with the shots of the boys!

Turner is 6! And Pumpkin Carving Fun!

We went to Matt and Dawn's house again this year for pumpkin carving. It is becoming a tradition and I love it! We all bring our pumpkins, eat delicious food (usually made by Dawn) and have some fun being creative with our designs.

Papa helped Turner pick a pattern. He also cleaned out both Turner and Harley's pumpkin guts since Devin was at work and I don't clean them out, I carve but can't stand the slime (eeww).

We were all happy to see Grandma Evelyn, Turner loves her SO much (we all do)!!!

Crystal (aka Oma) was done quickly and moved to supervising. :-)

Matt really gets into his jack-o-lanterns!

All done!

Happy Birthday Turner!!!!
Turner is 6!!!! He loves having a Halloween Birthday, it always turns into one long sugar high! Here is a picture of Turner, Harley and Alexa at Turner's family birthday party. My boys love their cousins!

Trick or treating was a 2 day event this year, we went to the Trick or Treat on Main street here in Oregon City. Turner and Harley met up with some very pretty friends...

These pretty ladies mean a lot to my boys!
Nicole, Harley, Mackenzie, Turner and Allie!
Then it was time for trick or treating in our neighborhood! Turner decided to be Optimus Prime again this year and Harley made the last minute decision to be a skeleton (despite his husky little booty).

Pumkin Patch 2010

This year we decided to take the kids to
Fir Point Farms before Turner's school trip
to make sure Harley got the chance to go
have some fun with his brother. They love
feeding the goats and watching them climb.
They liked the pigs until they got up close and smelled them! There was a bouncy house, hay ride and a corn maze. Then they decided to share a huge raspberry lemonade instead of apple cider.

Overall they had a lot of fun but they were upset
when Devin and I told them we would get our pumpkins
from a less expensive place. We still got some cute
pictures with pumpkins though, Turner even stopped
throwing his tantrum long enough for a pumpkin patch
picture! That is all I can ask, right. :-)

Mom's Birthday

October 12 is my mom's birthday. On October 16 we had dinner to celebrate and had what will probably be the last BBQ of the year. I made apple crisp for the first time with the recipe that mom uses, and although she makes the BEST apple crisp, mine wasn't too bad! Matt and Dawn brought a beautiful and yummy chocolate cake, along with a funny story about going to pick it up and being handed the ugliest cake EVER! Dawn had to ask for a redo. It was a nice, quiet birthday, just a chance to try and let Momma know how much we love and appreciate her.

4 years

Four years ago, on October 1st 2006 I married my best friend and the father of my children (child at the time). I love my family and am so grateful for my husband's love and our beautiful kids. I love you Devin, Turner and Harley. Forever.

More Birthday and making things!

I went to see an old friend from school this last week and she helped me with some basic sewing review, considering that I haven't tried to sew with a machine in probably 15 years. It was a lot of fun, I made a little bag. Now if I could just find Grandma Ada's old machine, I could keep practicing.

Then on September 25th we celebrated our friend Miles' 4th birthday! Papa's Pizza in Beaverton was a lot of fun,
the boys loved it! They always love seeing Miles which is nice since I always love seeing Penny. We have been friends since we were 5 and now our kids are friends, I'm such a sap!

Kindergarten Open House

Turner had his first real open house night on September 21st! He was so proud to show us his classroom. It seems like he is doing really well meeting all new kids and listening to his teacher. Despite the very early start, I think he really enjoys school. Plus he has a very cute little girl that sits next to him and apparently talks his ear off all day!

Harley had a pretty good time following his brother around and checking out the classroom too. He sat and read some books with a few other younger sibling. He can't wait to go to school!

Birthday Party

So happy to have been invited to celebrate Gavin Caddell's first birthday! Chris and Malia (and Malia's parents) are so sweet to think of us and it was fun to see all the kids running around making memories. Both Turner and Harley love Jonas and Gavin. They totally love Lanny's grandkids too, Evan and Ashlyn. I love that my kids get along so well with the kids of the people I grew up with.

My kids also fell in love with Malia's nephew, Noah, whom they dubbed "Donkey" for whatever reason...he didn't seem to mind. He is a great kid so if my kids are going to look up to a "big kid" I'm perfectly happy that it is him.

Friends and thier babies

I met Caleb Phillip Bowes on September 16th. He was born September 8th and he is adorable. Dev and I are so very happy for our friends Marisa and Josh, they are wonderful, loving parents.
Then on September 20, our friend Hannah delivered her baby girl, Elizabeth Dawn Ross. I can't wait to meet Lizzie! So happy to welcome two good friends to the mommy club. There really is nothing like being a momma!

day of play

Today was a good day. We got to see our friends Genoa and Miles at the park. Then it was lunch and off to Vancouver to see The Calvert family.

Although it seems lately that no matter what our plans are, either Turner or Harley (or both) are totally grumpy. I'm not going to let that stop me in my attempt to create a more positive example for them. They will just have to learn to like it! My kids may not have any first cousins yet but it is so fun to see them with Ambara's kids. We are lucky in friends and family.
